Política, Poética e Performance no Espaço Religioso: estudo da cultura material da Igreja Metodista Central em Santo André

Abstract

O espaço religioso sofre modificações permanentes. Primeiro, ele mesmo é criado e não encontrado, ou seja, inicialmente temos uma iniciativa humana que se manifesta na contínua modificação do próprio espaço. Portanto, a presente pesquisa tem por objetivo investigar a relação do impacto do espaço religioso sobre as pessoas e o impacto das pessoas sobre esse espaço, especificamente, o templo da Igreja Metodista Central em Santo André, a partir de três perspectivas: a política, a poética e a performance. Na perspectiva da política, consideramos que o espaço é um instrumento político intencionalmente manipulado, sendo, por isso, um meio ordenado nas mãos de um determinado grupo, classe ou indivíduos que visam a atingir certos objetivos. Na segunda perspectiva, o espaço pode ser compreendido a partir de uma apreciação subjetiva que é provocada pelo próprio espaço. O enfoque da performance é o reconhecimento do impacto do indivíduo nas atividades rituais e no significado ritual, em que o principal resultado da atividade ritual é a reprodução ou remodelação do ambiente social e cultural do indivíduo.

The religious space undergoes permanent modifications. First, it is created and not found, that is, we initially have a human initiative that manifests itself in the continuous modification of space itself. Therefore, the present research aims to investigate the relationship of the impact of religious space on people and the impact of people on this space, specifically, the temple of the Central Methodist Church in Santo André, from three perspectives: politics, poetics and performance. From a policy perspective, we consider that space is an intentionally manipulated political instrument and is therefore an orderly means in the hands of a particular group, class or individuals aiming to achieve certain objectives. In the second perspective, space can be understood from a subjective appreciation that is provoked by space itself. The focus of space performance is the recognition of the individual's impact on ritual activities and ritual meaning, where the main result of ritual activity is the reproduction or remodeling of an individual's social and cultural environment.
