Todos os caminhos levam a Deus”: Uma análise das motivações de gênero no trânsito religioso de pentecostais para a Igreja Metodista no Distrito Grande ABC

Abstract

Esta dissertação tem por objetivo investigar a existência de motivações de gênero para o trânsito religioso de pentecostais para a Igreja Metodista. Para tanto, o primeiro passo é demonstrar a incidência deste fluxo migratório. Em seguida levantar e analisar as motivações para a migração deste grupo para uma igreja protestante histórica. Neste sentido, o primeiro capítulo aborda assuntos correlatos ao tema como a religião, a modernidade e o campo religioso brasileiro, porque é no mundo moderno que os papéis de gênero são remodelados e emerge a transitoriedade humana em um contexto de pluralidade e sincretismo religioso ao qual pertencem o protestantismo histórico e o pentecostalismo. O segundo capítulo descreve as origens do movimento metodista, sua entrada no Brasil e na cidade de São Paulo, as bases doutrinárias e costumes, bem como delimita o campo de pesquisa nela inserido, encerra com caracterização do trânsito religioso, destaca dados estatísticos, dinâmicas, razões e conseqüências sobre este fenômeno, cruzando-os com dados da pesquisa de campo realizada na Igreja Metodista do Distrito Grande ABC. Por fim, o terceiro capítulo, traz a tona à discussão sobre a questão de gênero, apresenta conceitos, caracterização e sua relevância na religião e no trânsito religioso, encerra com a análise das motivações deste fluxo migratório de pentecostais para a Igreja Metodista sob a perspectiva de gênero.This dissertation aims to investigate the existence of motivations of the gender for religious passage of the Pentecostal to the Methodist Church. For this, the first step is to demonstrate the incidence of this migratory flow. Then collect and analyze the motivations for the migration of this group to a Protestant church history. In this sense, the first chapter addresses issues related to the subject as religion, modernity and the religious field in Brazil, because is in the modern world that the gender roles are reconfigured and emerges the human transience in a context of pluralism and religious syncretism to which belong the historic Protestantism and Pentecostalism. The second chapter describes the origins of the Methodist movement, their entry in Brazil and in Sao Paulo city, the doctrinal basis and customs, as well as delimiting the search field inserted in it, ending with the characterization of religious passage, highlighting statistical data, dynamic, reasons and consequences about of this phenomenon, crossing them with data from field research conducted in the Methodist Church in the District Grand ABC. Finally, the third chapter brings up the discussion on the issue of gender, presenting concepts, characterization and its relevance in religion and religious passage, ending with analysis of the causes of this migratory flow the Pentecostal to the Methodist Church, of gender perspective.
