Resumo
O projeto de pesquisa discute os processos informativos e formativos da educação teológica da Igreja do Nazareno no Brasil, tendo em vista a implementação da metodologia da educação transformadora. Atualmente, a educação teológica da Igreja do Nazareno no Brasil visa a formação e a preparação discente para o ofício pastoral. O problema de pesquisa parte da seguinte questão: a formação exclusivamente pastoral e o currículo mais utilitarista e menos integral preparam o futuro ministro para as interfaces sociais? A hipótese que sustenta esse trabalho é que, se não houver uma formação integral, haverá lacunas dos futuros ministros quanto aos cuidados das pessoas mais carentes, à criticidade da realidade e ao diálogo com a esfera pública. O objetivo geral é verificar se a metodologia transformadora poderia ser aplicável ao Seminário Teológico Nazareno do Brasil. E os objetivos específicos são três: (i) verificar as especificidades da educação teológica da Igreja do Nazareno; (ii) descrever o modelo de educação transformadora a partir de Paulo Freire; e (iii) analisar a aplicabilidade da metodologia transformadora, depreendendo se os modelos educacionais e curriculares permitem o(a) futuro(a) ministro(a) atuar nas interfaces sociais. A justificativa para essa pesquisa parte de uma observação empírica de que a formação incompleta dos(as) ministros(as) nazarenos(as) tem uma consequente atuação débil na sociedade. Além disso, há também uma verificação de que existem poucos trabalhos que discutem essa temática, podendo esta pesquisa colaborar com tal reflexão. A fundamentação teórica desse trabalho se concentra nos estudos de Ingersol, Raser e Whitelaw e Freire. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, cuja metodologia é bibliográfica e documental. O resultado esperado é que, por meio das análises realizadas, seja possível propor novos horizontes a partir da metodologia de educação transformadora aplicada ao Seminário Nazareno, permitindo que o(a) novo(a) ministro(a) tenha condições de atuar de forma plena nas interfaces sociais.
This research project discusses the informative and formative processes of theological education of the Church of the Nazarene in Brazil, with a view to implementing a new transformative education methodology. Currently, theological education of the Church of the Nazarene in Brazil aims at the formation and preparation of students for the pastoral office. The research problem is based on the following concern: does exclusively pastoral training and a more utilitarian and less comprehensive curriculum prepare the future minister for social interfaces? The hypothesis that supports this work is that, if there is no comprehensive training, there will be gaps in future ministers regarding the care of the most needy people, the criticality of reality and dialogue with the public sphere. General objective is to verify whether the transformative methodology could be applicable to the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Brazil. And specific objectives are three: (i) to verify the specificities of theological education of the Church of the Nazarene; (ii) describe the transformative education model based on Paulo Freire; and (iii) analyze the applicability of the transformative methodology, understanding whether the educational and curricular models allow the future minister to act in social interfaces. The justification for this research is based on an empirical observation that the incomplete training of Nazarene ministers has a consequent weak performance in society. Furthermore, there is also a verification that there are few works that discuss this topic, and this research could contribute to such reflection. The theoretical foundation of this work focuses on studies by Ingersol, Raser and Whitelaw and Freire. The research is qualitative, which methodology is bibliographic and documental. The expected result is that, through the analyzes carried out, it will be possible to propose new horizons based on the transformative education methodology applied to the Nazarene Seminary, allowing the new minister to be able to act fully in social interfaces.
