As relações de poder nas pastorais do catolicismo romano pós-Concílio Vaticano II. Um estudo de gênero a partir do trabalho das mulheres na Arquidiocese de Porto Velho-RO

Abstract

A preocupação desta pesquisa surge pela necessidade de se estudar a condição das mulheres e a relevância dos seus trabalhos na Igreja Católica e na sociedade atual. Estudar os fatores que possam contribuir ou prejudicar os trabalhos das mulheres se torna de máxima importância para repensar paradigmas pastorais e institucionais discriminatórios, que não são apenas religiosos, mas também culturais. Como no catolicismo romano as ações pastorais são majoritariamente exercidas por mulheres e estas não podem participar da hierarquia religiosa, as nossas pesquisas foram feitas com o intuito de responder a seguinte pergunta: Por que as mulheres insistem em trabalhar na Igreja mesmo sabendo que não poderão participar plenamente dos espaços decisórios? Ficou evidente que não se deva respond er a essa pergunta com uma única resposta elaborada por bases teóricas, muito menos por dados apenas quantitativos. O que se pressupõe é a existência de um poder a ser comprovado que é, porém, complexo de ser investigado, considerando-se o emaranhado de relações no qual está inserido. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada na Arquidiocese de Porto Velho-RO e aí percebemos uma dialética: as mulheres, mesmo excluídas de certos trabalhos e proibidas de conquistarem alguns espaços, realizam-se no exercício das suas atividades por conseguirem fazer o necessário para a sobrevivência daquilo que a instituição lhe oferece. Além dos documentos do magistério teológico utilizamos teorias sobre relações de poder, eclesiologia e gênero, principalmente de Elisabeth Schussler–Fiorenza e Michael Foucault. Repensar cientificamente essa situação e relançar novas perspectivas diante das atuais circunstâncias eclesiais são partes das intenções deste trabalho, que também tem como objetivo buscar, através da hermenêutica de gênero, dados e fundamentos que ajudem a compreender essa situação, já reconhecida nos documentos oficiais da Igreja, mas ainda praticada de forma discriminatória. Portanto, este estudo propõe-se a: conhecer a Igreja Católica em Porto Velho- RO, tanto nos seus aspectos histórico-religiosos quanto nos sócio-culturais; demonstrar os dados e os levantamentos obtidos no campo; contribuir com os estudos sobre as influências históricas que prejudicaram a presença das mulheres no catolicismo; e repensar cientificamente as relações de poder no catolicismo propondo novos discursos e posturas pastorais. Concluindo apontaremos perspectivas que mostram o real poder das mulheres na Igreja, possibilitando a abertura de novos caminhos para as inter-relações e institucionalizações nas pastorais católicas. Enfim, este trabalho quer contribuir para a garantia da presença das mulheres nas esferas de decisão, tarefa de suma importância não só como direito delas nas instâncias religiosas, mas diante da sociedade como um todo. Por isso, com dados empíricos e bases teóricas objetiva-se com este trabalho possibilitar novas discussões sobre a situação das mulheres e a institucionalização do seu poder vigente e real, mas ainda informal e subjugado na Igreja Católica.The idea of carrying out this research comes from the need of studying the women's condition and their work relevance at the Catholic Church and in the current society. Studying the factors that can help or harm the women's work is of great importance to rethink pastoral and institutional discriminatory paradigms which are not only religious but also cultural. As in the Roman Catholicism the pastoral service is exercised mostly by women and they cannot participate in the religious hierarchy this research was made seeking to answer the following question: Why do women insist on working at the Church even knowing they cannot fully participate in decisive issues? For sure no one should answer that question either with a simple statement elaborated on theoretical bases or based on quantitative data. The hypotheses of the existence of a power should be proved, however the investigation of such a power is complex taking into account the entangled relationships in which it is involved. The field research was carried out in the Archdiocese of Porto Velho-RO and there we noticed a dichotomy: even excluded of some activities and forbidden of conquering their own working spaces the women felt rewarded doing their tasks just because they achieved to do what was necessary for the survival of what the institution has offered them. Besides documents of the theological teaching we also made use of theories on power relationships, ecclesiology and gender, mainly those of Elisabeth Schussler.Fiorenza and Michael Foucault. To scientifically rethink such an established order and offer new perspectives concerning the current ecclesiological circumstances is part of the goals of this work, which also intends, through the gender hermeneutics, to search for data and fundamentals that help us to understand that state of affairs, which is already recognized by the Church official documents, but still practiced in a discriminatory way. Therefore this study seeks: to raise information and get to know better the Catholic Church in Porto Velho-RO, both of its historical-religious aspects and the social- cultural ones; to demonstrate the data and the results obtained from field studies and surveys; to contribute with the studies on the historical influences that have harmed the women's presence in Catholicism; and to scientifically rethink the power relationships in Catholicism proposing new speeches and new pastoral postures. As a conclusion we will point out perspectives that show the women’s real power at the Church, opening possibilities for new roads concerning the interrelations and institutionalizations in the Catholic pastorals. Finally, this work is due to assure the women's presence at the decision ranks, a task of essential importance not only as one of their rights in the religious instances, but also before the society as a whole. Therefore with empiric data and theoretical bases, this work aims at making it possible new discussions on the women's conditions and the institutionalization of their effective and real power, which is still informal and subdued at the Catholic Church.
