Resumo
Um estudo do perfil jornalístico no quadro amplo e diversificado da narrativa em geral e jornalística em particular é o que aqui se apresenta. O tema assume na última parte do trabalho um aspecto prático, pedagógico e também empírico, porque nessa etapa da viagem se descreve, analisa e interpreta um conjunto de características, sentidos, possibilidades e também limites da experiência de composição de perfis desenvolvida com alunos do terceiro ano do curso superior de jornalismo. Quarenta autores – em formação na época da escritura dos textos – assinam os perfis até este momento publicados e que deram origem a três coletâneas – o corpus principal da parte analítica. O trabalho, como aqui se dá a conhecer, ensina e educa tanto pelo lado do esforço empreendido para dar conta da tarefa constante do plano de ensino da disciplina “Jornalismo Literário e Grande-reportagem” quanto pelo fato de esse empreendimento vir associado à aproximação com personagens que fizeram do jornalismo a atividade profissional mais importante de suas vidas. A organização da tese em forma de viagem, com quatro etapas e quinze estações, precisa ser vista no contexto de uma opção por mostrar, ver e interpretar, mais do que por demonstrar – em resumo, prefere-se a incerteza da compreensão (dialógica) à ilusória certeza de uma explicação (autoritária). Melhor: metodologicamente, compreensão e explicação conversam entre si – e às vezes animadamente – num texto de natureza em boa medida ensaística. Esse diálogo, sério mas sem se deixar submeter à forca do método, vê, nos princípios de análise que erige e nas técnicas de escrita que o perfil jornalístico evoca, um convite à compreensão de um “perfil do perfil jornalístico”, à elaboração de uma noção (pertinente), e não de um conceito (fechado). Perpassa o trabalho, do princípio ao fim, a ideia-força de que toda narrativa nos situa no campo da produção de conhecimento sobre a vida, o mundo, a pessoa, a história. Assim, narrar é preciso: a narrativa, da sua maneira, nos institui como humanos. A busca nem sempre fácil, jamais certa e segura, de conversar com princípios, técnicas e teorias deixa com algum prazer o mundo da abstração para estabelecer um diálogo com estudiosos, pesquisadores e, particularmente, produtores de perfis jornalísticos. Situando-nos diretamente sob a luz do signo da relação (Cremilda Medina), esse modo de escrita jornalística se movimenta tanto nas proximidades dos fenômenos sociais e políticos quanto da própria alma humana. A proposta do gênero perfil é também, por isso mesmo, uma aposta no cultivo de vínculos e de relações neste nosso mundo às vezes tão fascinado quando endoidecido pelas maravilhosas possibilidades técnicas de conexões.
A study of journalistic profile in the wide and diverse scope of narrative in general and journalistic narrative in particular is presented here. The subject is examined in the last part of this dissertation in a practical, pedagogical and also empirical manner, since that stage of the journey describes, analyses and interprets a set of characteristics, meanings, possibilities and also limits of an experience of profile writing developed with undergrad students in the third year of a Journalism program. Forty are the authors – still in training at the time the texts were written – of the profiles which until now have been published in three anthologies – the main corpus in our analysis. The project, as presented here, teaches and trains as much through the students’ efforts in order to deliver the frequent assignments proposed in the Teaching Plan of the “Literary Journalism and Longform Reporting” as through the fact that such efforts are associated with being close to people for whom journalism was the most important profesional activity of their lives. The organization of this dissertation in the form of a journey in four stages and fifteen stations must be seen in the context of an option for showing, seeing an interpreting, more than demonstrating – in sum, we prefer the uncertainty of (dialogical) comprehension and understanding to the illusory certainty of an (authoritarian) explanation. Or rather: in a methodological sense, comprehension and explanation are able to converse and sometimes excitedly do so in a text akin in nature to the essay. Such a dialogue is a serious one, albeit not letting itself submit to be hanged by the method, and sees in the principles of analysis it constructs and in the writing techniques evoked by the journalistic profile an invitation to the comprehension of a “profile of the journalistic profile”, the proposition of a (pertinent) notion instead of a (closed) concept. The work is transpassed from beginning to end by the idea/strength that all narratives put us in the field of knowledge construction regarding life, world, people, history. Thus, we have to narrate: narrative in its own way institutes us as human beings. The not always easy and never certain and safe search for conversing with principles, techniques and theories happily leaves the domains of abstraction in order to establish a dialogue with scholars, researchers and in particular profile writers. Standing directly under the light of the sign of relation (Cremilda Medina), this approach to journalism writing moves in the vicinity of political and social phenomena as well as of the human soul itself. The proposal of profile as a genre is thus, for that very reason, a bet on the cultivation of bonds and relations in this world which at times becomes as much fascinated as crazed by the marvelous technical posibilities for connection.
