A justiça em pauta: o poder judiciário brasileiro na mídia imprensa

Abstract

Pesquisa realizada nos principais veículos da mídia impressa nacional, entre os meses de julho e dezembro de 2007, com o objetivo de verificar qual é a imagem do Poder Judiciário Brasileiro divulgada pelos veículos, interpretando os principais temas abordados nas publicações e a angulação das matérias. Utilizou-se a análise de conteúdo e a ferramenta da auditoria de imagem na mídia. Concluiu-se na pesquisa que o Poder Judiciário Brasileiro é foco da mídia impressa principalmente quando analisa processos relativos a pessoas públicas, especialmente parlamentares. Também por esse motivo, observou-se que a maior parte das matérias citava a atuação do Supremo Tribunal Federal, órgão máximo da justiça brasileira e responsável pelo julgamento de senadores, principais focos das matérias e autoridades com direito a foro privilegiado. Além disso, chegou-se à conclusão de que a maioria das matérias refere-se a processos ainda em curso, evidenciando-se que não há um acompanhamento freqüente das decisões e sentenças dos órgãos do judiciário. Embora a análise seja referente a um período delimitado, evidenciaram-se falhas na comunicação do judiciário e foram apresentadas sugestões para aprimorar essa comunicação.The research was carried out in the main Brazilian printed media, between the months of July and December of 2007, in order to verify the image of the Brazilian Judiciary Power disclosed by the media, interpreting the main themes approached in the publications and angulation of the subject- matters. The content analysis and the media image auditing tool were used. The research concluded that the printed media focuses on the Brazilian Judiciary Power mainly when it analyses legal pro- ceedings that involve public persons, especially parliamentarians. It was also observed that the ma- jority of the published subjects mentioned acts of the Supreme Court, which is the highest instance of the Brazilian judicial system and is responsible for placing senators on trial, who are the main focus of the publications, and of authorities with the right to special venue. Besides this it was concluded that the majority of the subject-matters refer to legal proceedings still under judgment, proving the there is no frequent follow-up of the decisions and judgments of the judiciary power. In spite of the fact that the analysis refers to a delimited period, the faulty communication within the judiciary power was evident and suggestions were presented to improve the mentioned communication.
