Autism is a disorder that has been growing exponentially in the population, and the most affected area is communication, compromising the quality of life of individuals and their families. Therefore, this research project aims to verify how communicative citizenship can be a resource to combat ableism. In this sense, we propose an exploratory analysis of autism, with the mapping of existing channels in virtual social networks, of autistic people, activists (who work, study and live with autistic people) and specialized channels. Subsequently, in-depth interviews were carried out, with the aim of analyzing this investigation from the point of view of the main actors in this process. As a theoretical-methodological resource, we will use, in addition to the concept of alternative communication, communicative citizenship and alternative communication spaces. We found at the end of the work that alternative communication channels are an important tool in autistic activism, in order to promote communicative citizenship.
