Evasão universitária: compreendendo o fenômeno no universo juvenil. Um estudo de caso com jovens evadidos do curso de administração de uma IES confessional

Resumo
O fenômeno da evasão no ensino superior vem sendo investigado há algum tempo e em diferentes cenários, como por exemplo nos cursos presenciais e na modalidade a distância, ou diferenciando-se por cursos estudados e metodologias de pesquisa, sempre com fortes recomendações de pesquisadores, para que se realizem investigações ainda mais específicas, a fim de se gerarem dados mais consistentes para as ações dos gestores de instituições de ensino. Nesse contexto, percebe-se que são raras ainda as pesquisas, específicas, sobre os motivos que levam os jovens a evadirem do ensino superior, um público que hoje representa cerca de 25% da população brasileira e que vem desenvolvendo características e comportamentos próprios e diferentes das gerações anteriores. Assim, o problema desta pesquisa encontra-se em entender por quais motivos o jovem vale paraibano e estudante de uma IES confessional está desistindo de cursar Administração. Por meio de pesquisa qualitativa, utilizando-se o método do estudo de caso e apoiando-se nas técnicas de entrevistas, análises documentais e focus group, objetivou-se com este trabalho levantar os motivos que levam os jovens de uma IES confessional, da região do Vale do Paraíba, a abandonarem o curso de Administração antes de seu final, analisando muito mais do que somente a resposta formal apresentada na ocasião da saída do curso, mas também compreendendo todo o entorno da situação. Os resultados evidenciam que a evasão do jovem pesquisado, embora em sua declaração primeira e formal haja uma causa única, perpassa por um acúmulo de fatores que geram insatisfação e frustração com a experiência estudantil, tais como questões pedagógicas, administrativas e pessoais. Além disso, destaca-se uma deficiência no processo de combate à evasão por parte da Instituição de Ensino pesquisada, que está perdendo alunos sem compreender ao certo os motivos, além de não conseguir acessar toda carga de informação que esses discentes possuem. Este trabalho pode ajudar a compreender o universo juvenil e suas insatisfações, sobretudo no plano do ensino, porém, tal pesquisa traz consigo limitações de campo de aplicação e localização geográfica. Estudos futuros em outros cursos, outras instituições e em outras regiões do país, poderão auxiliar na construção de um panorama mais completo.
The evasion phenomenon in higher education has been investigated for many years, and furthermore in different scenarios, such as traditional and distance learning, or even comprehending different kind of courses and research methodologies; always strongly recommended by researchers to carry out even more specific researches, to generate more consistent data for educational institutions managers to take actions. In context, it can be seen that there are still very few specific researches about student´s motives to dropout higher education, an audience that today represents around 25% of the Brazilian population and which has developed its own characteristics and behaviors distinct from previous generations. Thus, the problem of this research lies in understanding why the young Paraiban is a student of a confessional HEI, is giving up administration. Supported by a qualitative research, using a case study method and based on interview techniques, documents analysis and focus groups, the purpose of this study was to raise the causes that lead young people from a confessional HEI, located at Vale do Paraíba, to abandon their Business Administration course before its conclusion, analyzing further than merely formal responses presented at the time of abandonment, but also understanding the full context of the situation. The results have shown that the evasion of the subjects investigated, regardless of its first and formal declaration seeming to have a single cause, runs through an accumulation of factors that leads to dissatisfaction and frustration with the student experience, such as pedagogical, administrative and personal issues. In addition, it has been noted an inadequacy in the process of preventing evasion by the researched teaching institution, which is, without known motives, decreasing in its overall number of students, as well as not being able to access all information load that these students have. The present study can cooperate in understanding the universe of the students studied and their dissatisfaction, especially in the learning extent, however, such research brings limitations in field of application and geographical location. Future studies in other courses, institutions and geographical regions, may assist in the construction of a more thorough perspective.
