Geração Y: uma nova versão de líderes?

Abstract

O tema se refere diretamente aos fatos contemporâneos no âmbito de liderança empresarial, à inserção de novos profissionais no mercado e os conflitos envolvidos. Refere-se ainda à adversidade das gerações diante dessa nova leva de líderes, seu formato de direção, inspiração e gerenciamento. O estudo do compartilhamento de espaço entre gestores ajuda a compreender os novos hábitos e costumes organizacionais nesta nova realidade, elucidando os possíveis confrontos de ideias novas, habituais e seus resultados. Quando abordada a Geração Y defronte a Geração X, são perceptíveis as diferenças que podem justificar o avanço no assunto da liderança e suas semelhanças no mesmo aspecto. Sendo assim, o objetivo do estudo é identificar a tipologia dos profissionais em liderança existentes no mercado, com estes devidamente agrupados em suas gerações temos uma contribuição para um conhecimento pouco mais a fundo no comportamento de cada um nos referidos cargos, em suas relações e influências. O trabalho é embasado em best-sellers sobre a Geração Y ainda com auxílio do questionário “Que líder sou eu?”, da empresa Líder de Recrutamento Robert Ralf, adaptado pelos autores a partir do original. Realizamos uma pesquisa quantitativa sobre perfis de liderança. A captação dos dados se deu através de um questionário digital, aplicado via Google Docs. Com o filtro e análise dos resultados, identificamos que ainda não é possível precisar diferenças significativas entre os líderes da geração X e geração Y.

The subject deals with present-day facts about corporate leadership, the arrival of new professionals to the labor market and all the conflicts involved. It also deals with the adversities faced by the generations in front of the new leaders and their skills in guiding, inspiring and managing. The study of how the managers share this space will help us understand how the new habits and organizational customs work together to build a new reality, predicting the confrontation between the new ideas, habits and results. When approached, members of Generation Y share differences and similarities with members of Generation X on the topic of Leadership. That being said, the main goal of this study is to identify the styles of leadership among the professionals working today. After classifying them by their respective generations, we searched for a deeper knowledge of how each one of them behaves in their positions, their relations and their inspirations. The work is grounded by writer Sidnei Oliveira’s bestsellers about Generation Y, and also by the questionnaire “Which kind of leader am I?”, adapted from the original questionnaire elaborated by Robert Ralf’s company. We’ve conducted a quantitative research on leadership profiles. The data was captured through an online questionnaire, via Google Docs. After analyzing the results, we came to the conclusion that there are no significant differences between the leaders from Generation X and Generation Y.
