Resumo
O estudo enfoca a experiência do jornal Preto no Branco, órgão da imprensa alternativa criado pela Cooperativa dos Jornalistas de Santos (Jornacoop). A publicação, que usava o slogan “Um jornal sem patrão”, surgiu em agosto de 1979 e se estendeu até 1980, durante o processo de distensão política no regime militar. O objetivo desta investigação é o de recuperar a história do jornal Preto no Branco, com a análise de sua contribuição no enfrentamento da ditadura militar e no panorama da imprensa alternativa. Para a concretização do trabalho, os procedimentos metodológicos adotados envolvem revisão bibliográfica sobre imprensa alternativa, ditadura militar e memória. A pesquisa documental na coleção integral do tabloide (1979-1980) e em documentos disponíveis da Jornacoop foi outra etapa desenvolvida, além de análise de conteúdo a partir das matérias publicadas pelo mensário. A metodologia incluiu, ainda, entrevistas semiestruturadas com ex-associados da Cooperativa, especialmente com editores e colaboradores mais assíduos do jornal e ex-diretores da entidade. Conclui-se que o jornal, embora de caráter regional, destacou-se entre os órgãos da imprensa alternativa por sua relativa longevidade e por seu caráter cooperativista, além de ter combatido a ditadura militar em Santos, uma das cidades mais penalizadas pelo regime por sua pujança sindical e tradição oposicionista.
The study focuses on the journal experience named Preto no Branco, organ of the alternative press created by the Journalists Cooperative from Santos (Jornacoop). The publication which used the slogan “no boss journal”, came up in august 1979 and it extended up to 1980 during the process of political distension amid the military regime. The aim of this investigation is to retrieve the history of the journal Preto no Branco with the analysis of its contribution in confronting the military regime as well as an overview of the alternative press. For the conclusion of the assignment, the methodological procedures adopted involve bibliographic survey on the alternative press, military dictatorship and memory. The document research for the full collection of the tabloid (1979-1980) as well as in available documents found at Jornacoop has been another developed stage, besides content analysis related to articles published by the monthly journal. The methodology also included semi-structured interviews with ex-members of the cooperative, especially editors and regular co-workers of the journal and former directors of the entity. The conclusion is that the journal, although of a regional nature, stood out among organs of the alternative printing press by its relative longevity and by its cooperative profile. In addition to this, the journal also fought military dictatorship in Santos, one of the most penalized cities by the regime specially because its labor union vigor and oppositional tradition.
